Donna, Yong top couples runRUNNING has become such a hit that couples decided to spend Valentine’s Day running the streets of Cebu in the Run with a Smile 2010 yesterday. While Simon Losiaboi and Mary Grace delos Santos continued to dominate the elite divisions, it was Dr. Yong Larrazabal III and his wife Donna, who topped the special category—the couples division. Click here for stories and updates on the Sinulog 2010 Festival. The first place finish was a fitting gift to Donna, who celebrated her birthday yesterday. The two finished with a time of 56:12.18, to edge out Judith and Joshua Escasinas, who posted 57:28. Triathletes Noy and Amale Jopson came in at third at 58:07. Meanwhile, Losiaboi finished the men’s 10k run in 32:23 for the top honors. Elmer Bartolo came in second at 33.41. Ian Bernido was third place after crossing the finish line 15 seconds after Bartolo. Delos Santos topped the 10k women’s division with a time of 39:59. Mary Joy Tabal (40:43) and Marlyn Alin (48:06) were the second and third placers. Taking the top three in the 5K division were Roland Batiancila (17:30), Jobert Carolino (17:34) and Rolan Onrada (17:48) in the men’s division and Rose Angele Amores (22:92.92), Lenne Caduada (26:47) and Diodel Moralla (27.23) in the women’s division. The winners in the 3K men’s division were Ramon Carsido (13:49), Rafael Tan (13:49) and Eugene Esteban (17:40). Mizrain Capangpangan (19:16), Camille Flor (19:52) and Cecilia May Uy (19:52) took the top three spots in the women’s division. |
